High School Recommendations

After nearing my first two months in a large academic university, I'm now leaning heavily towards transfering to an artsy school for a film degree, a setting in which I feel I would thrive in much more than the standard experience.

The trouble I might have is getting recommendations. The classes that I'm taking have no relation to film, except a communications/media class, which I can probably get a TA rec. But for most schools, I'll need two recs.

If I were to use recommendations from my high school teachers (used in applying for freshman year in college), would this hurt me, even if those recs were very favorable and outstanding for me?

I read the 101 thread on recs, but I think my case differs in that I'm transfering from the traditional academic university to an art school.

do you have a portfolio?

In general, I think it's a bad idea; but I don't know if your case would be an exception. Are the hs recs art related? I think it would be wise to call the Admissions Office of the school(s) where you are applying and ask this qx - is it better to have two college recs, even if not art related, or one college and one hs, or could I have two from hs?
