<p>it doesn't matter what the research is on. Sometimes you can write reviews, summing up past research in a few. It has to be novel though. You can't write a book report and then expect a recognized journal to publish it.</p>
<p>Asthmatic children would fall under clinical research where you'd be looking at data rather than doing actual experimentation.</p>

<p>Standford has a research program you can participate in, the folding of cells. Its a program called "Folding@home", and it uses your pc power to calculate cell structure and more. Everyone is allowed to participate.</p>
