I'm about to start my senior year in high school and wanted some recomendations for classes i should take. my current classes have "scheduling conflicts" meaning i have to drop some. so far, my schedule is

AP Calculus
AP Physics
AP Lit.
AP Latin
Orchestra

and i was wondering if i should drop the AP latin to take up AP chemistry or engineering 1 instead since im planning to major in aerospace engineering.

[ul][]AP Calculus BC vs. AP Calculus AB. BC Calculus will get you credit for Calculus I and Calculus II; AB Calculus will only get you credit for Calculus I. That is assuming that you pass the AP exam. We are talking 8 credits vs. 4 credits.
[]AP Physics B. AP Physics C is calculus based.
[]AP Literature
[]AP Latin - Drop this course
[]AP Chemistry - Add this course
[]AP Statistics - Consider adding this course. If you pass the AP exam you will receive 4 credits.[/ul]

It all depends what you wish to try to place out of when you get to college.

For instance, a 5 on the AP Chemistry will let you place out of Chem I, which is a very time-intensive course at RPI. On the other hand, you may be cheating yourself out learning much, because I know AP Chem (at least at my high school) was nowhere as thorough as the one at RPI. Still, I would recommend it as well over AP Latin.

Engineering I might be a good idea if you are trying to decide between engineering and something else, but I wouldn't recommend it over the others.

As was said before, the big point in taking AP classes is to place out of the time-consuming freshmen year classes such as calculus, physics, chemistry, etc, so you can get to the more interesting classes more quickly.
I am an Aero Eng and I placed out of Physics 1 and 2, Chemistry, and Calc 1, and it was a great move.

I'd say drop Latin, and take AP Chemistry.
AP Lit may not necessarily be useful, either. I'd prefer the engineering course instead myself..but that's up to you. The reason being, alot of people come to school thinking they want to be an engineer but knowing nothing about it, and they end up losing interest and switching majors. At least this class would give you a little insight
