Hello! I am a hard working student with a high gpa and I am in the top 10% of my class. I am currently a sophomore trying to decide my junior classes. All opinions are greatly appreciated!
Schedule 1
Ap Statistics
Ap Lit
Ap Psychology

Precal/ trig Honors
Chemistry honors
Or
Schedule 2
Art 3

I would either take Ap statistics or art 3. I find Ap statistics very interesting; however I’ve always loved art and excel in it. I am not worried with the workload corresponding with another Ap class, I just can decide between the two. Do you think college look for a well rounded student ,with art, or a purely academic based schedule without art? Thank you for the input!
I don’t think the art matters too much, as long as you have extra curriculars to show that show you’re well rounded. The first schedule looks more impressive, especially for junior year.
I would keep the AP Stats because two APs might be a little lite for junior year. Have you taken APs in the past?
Yes, I am currently in Ap human geography. I’ve decided to stick with Ap Statistics. Thank you for the help!
Actually, AP stats is an AP lite, and taking art 3, which indicates proficiency level and consistency, would be better.
DO plan to take statistics in college (which AP stats isn’t a substitute for) as this is a class you can include on your resume under ‘relevant coursework’ (high school classes cannot go there unless taken in a college via de).
I’d consider a language (unless you already have a second language mastered).
^i missed that. Good point.
You need to reach level 3 of a foreign language (4 for a top school).
I would not worry about AP statistics…make sure you have a foreign languate
