High school summer internship: super hard w/o connections?

I heard most sternies get internships starting sophomore year, or end of freshman year. how bout getting one the summer before stern? I tried half a dozen companies but to no avail.

The summer before Stern is probably going to be impossible because most students know nothing about what they're trying to do. Of course, I'm not a Sternie, but that's just my guess. Regardless, I think it's a bit overkill - enjoy the summer before college. :D Chill out, hang with your friends, spend time with your family. Pretty soon you'll be wanting to work during the summer, so just enjoy the time you've got. It's not going to hurt your resume.

IVY: Try getting a summer job that can lead into experience for a later internship. Banks in our area hire part-time tellers, a brokerage house might be able to use you as a runner. What kind of internship are you looking for? What is your be all/ end all goal?
DD had internships (paid) throughout her years at NYU (some really horrible) but one thing led to another and she got a great job after graduation.
