High School Tips for Succeeding

HI, I am currently an 8th grader going into High School. I am going to Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, California. My freshman classes are English 1 honors, precalc honors, physics, rhetoric, hebrew and christian scriptures, intro to comp. science (elective), and foundations art. Does anyone have any tips about going into high school, succeeding, and getting good grades. For sports I will do track and field (no cut), and freshman basektball team which i am highly likely to make. How do you think about this start as a freshman? Is it on par for attending a top college?

From personal experience of what I didn’t do, do all your homework, stay on a good note with all your teachers, and most importantly challenge yourself.

The classes look fine for a Freshman. You could add an AP if they offer any.

For ECs be sure to volunteer, maybe get a job, and do something outside of your school related to whatever you wanna major in.

If you’re motivated enough to be on here as an 8th grader, you should be fine.
I generally agree with the previous replyer. The only things I would add are to look around and try to join a club or two that interests you.
Your schedule is interesting; how are you in precalc (I’m currently a junior taking the same course) and no history?

No APs are offered as a freshman. I was able to test into precalc honors from a math placement exam and for history it is either World History: Axial Age to the 1700s or testing into rhetoric and i got into rhetoric

Listen to lil pump while doing hw or studying to improve your grades. Just kidding, you’ll do fine.
