How am I doing

I am just finishing freshman year in high school and am taking
English 1 Honor- A
French 2- A-
Us history 1 Honors- A
AP physics 1 and 2- B+
Algebra 2/trig- B
Finally Gym and health along with two state required courses which I got A’s in

I have high college aspirations for getting into colleges and I feel like my grades this year might have ruined my chances already for getting into Ivy League schools and other selective schools. Is this true or will a solid performance in the next 2-3 years make up for this? I have solid EC’s in my opinion

First of all, don’t worry too much about freshman year grades; many colleges only briefly consider them, and some don’t even consider them at all (e.g. the UCs). And all colleges will look at upward trend to help determine admission.

However, I will say that if you’re already struggling a little bit in Math/Science and it’s only freshman year, you might want to consider bettering your study habits and work ethic for later years. I’m not trying to be mean, but freshman year is pretty easy usually, barring that your school is known for being obscenely intense. If you’re already getting a B in math this year, what will you be getting when it’s Calculus in Junior year?

Yea i agree completely the math is my main point of concern and i plan to work to get that up. I think i overwhelmed myself a little with the AP physics and neglected it. Never really struggled in math before, so i plan to prepare a lot for percale and calc and secure solid grades…thank you very much for your input i appreciate it

Anyone else have an opinion?

No lol ok…

What kind of school has freshmen taking AP Physics? That’s nuts. And you’re two years accelerated in math.

You’re doing quite well.

I’d study my trig over the summer; if you keep on this track you’ll need it. Best of luck.

Yea not sure i moved here before 9th grade and since my math was accelerated they put me in AP physics (algebra based)
