High schooler getting ready for college?

I was just wondering what I need to do to get ready for college. I'm going into tenth grade and I don't want to regret it if my college applications are lacking later on. So far, I'm a straight A student (4.0 gpa unweighted) and a tennis player. I took 2 honors classes (Science & English) my freshman year and I'm taking 2 more honors classes my 10th grade year plus a World History AP class. I've joined 2 clubs (Spanish Club and a welcoming committee club) my 9th grade year and some other clubs during middle school such as Njhs. In 7th grade, I took the ACT and got a 19. I also took the AMC test, but I did horribly. I've been recommended and nominated for a pageant and summer programs, but haven't been able to do them due to the lack of income. I've gotten awards for classes and accepted to the yearbook staff. I have done volunteer work in public libraries and etc. I'm planning on volunteering in the hospital, taking a CPR class, and getting a summer job.

Is volunteer work during middle school relevant in college applications and if so, do I keep track of the hours? Should I do more summer programs? (Please recommend some?) Honestly, I want to get in a good college and hopefully become a pharmacist or get an occupation that makes a difference in this world. I just need some guidance, so if you have pharmacy school recommendations, advice, or any thoughts on what I should do to make my college application look better, it would help :) Thanks for your help!

Do what you love! Sounds corny but it speaks volumes. Don’t let income impede what you want to do. I would just suggest general stuff like study for sat’s early (summer’s a great time) and try and get internships/do activities that relate to what you like to do/want to do later on. Take challenging courses not for the sake of having them on paper but to have your mind stimulated. Other than that, I think I’ve covered the basics!

Best,

Haha it’s not corny at all! I’ve been doing what I love, but sometimes money and time can get in the way :\ I don’t think I can get an internship in pharmacy unless I have a license, but I am planning on volunteering in the hospital. I guess I’m gonna start studying for the SAT’s this year now that you’ve mentioned it! Thanks!!! I appreciate it!
