High Schoolers : Share your classes for next year

So when does everyone go to sign up for classes for next year? Our school goes in class order so Juniors sign up for classes starting when we get back from break and then Sophomores go in early December and so on and so forth.

What kind of classes are all of you going to take? Are there any classes your looking forward to?

I gotta say I'm pretty stoked for Economics. =] It looks like such a fun subject.

We sign up in Marchish
except I basically know what I’m doing save for math/science
[senior year]

AP Lit
AP Euro Hist
AP Art Hist
(those three go together in a program at our school called Recurring Themes)
College Sociology Honors (Semester)

AP Gov’t and Pol’t (Semester)

And now I have 4 free periods. I want a study hall first pd so I can get late arrival.
IDK what to do about math/science. I will prob major in history, sociology, or something similar. By the end of this year I will have completed 4 years of math+AP Stats, 4 years of lab science including one AP science, 4 years of history including 2 APs, 4 years of English including 1 AP, and 4 years of French.
My science options–considering I really don’t want to take an AP—are basically, College Forensics Honors.
My math options (keeping in mind I hate math) are AP Calc BC (def not), AP Calc AB (possibility), or Calc Honors (probably what I will end up doing)

What I would like to do is take no science and Calc Honors.
That and a study hall would leave me with two more free periods.
IDK WHAT TO DO WITH THEM!?
I could obviously take electives. I would love to take basic/advanced photo or basic/advanced computer graphics (I take art classes on the side and would like to minor in Studio Art or Art History), but I don’t want to take 4 electives senior year.
But I will have exhausted the History Department and all that would be left for English are some writing electives, and I think I’ll be doing quite a bit of reading/writing next year already (those are my two fav subjects).
If I am REALLY lucky I might be able to convince the Art Dept Head to let me take AP Studio Art, and then I’ll be fine.

Any suggestions? Will it look horrible not to take a science Senior year?

oh and btw shuffle, sorry to be a downer but I hate Econ =P
don’t believe me though because this may be a result of 1) I hate math 2) I am taking a math-heavy courseload this year, its just how it works out (math, stats, econ, physics…) and 3) my teacher sucks and has no clue what she’s talking about.

Next year (senior year)

IB English HL
IB History HL
IB Psychology HL
IB French SL II
IB Math Studies SL
Pre-IB Challenge Physics :frowning: Didn’t take soph year like everyone else.

sophomore year:

APUSH
Pre-IB English 10

next year’s schedule:

AP Calculus AB/BC (block schedule so able to take both)

AP English Literature
French II/III [block schedule sucks :)]
some other stupid classes

is it insane that I know what AP’s I’m going to self-study???
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
AP European History or Statistics

Alamode, I’d say it shouldn’t hurt to skip out on science your Senior year if you’ve already taken four years of it. Go for the Calc Honors and AP Studio Art. Department heads aren’t too bad to deal with. Just write him a nice note and shove it in his office mailbox and you should be fine. =]

I dunno, every time I walk past our econ classrooms they seem to be having a party. No joke. I peek in and there’s cake and balloons everywhere.

we sign up in april i believe. still a long way to go but i know what im taking. its gonna be junior year and i am gonna try to do the following:

ap bio
ap chem
ap stats
ap spanish (blowoff class for me, im a native speaker  )
ap lang
honors precal
honors physics
psychology
art

i am prepared to die as long as i keep my 4.0!

Junior Year:

AP Calc AB (or maybe precalc, depends on if I take precalc in summer)
AP Physics (not sure, but it’s my only AP science option besides APES)

Probably some more APs, not sure yet.

I’m not entirely positive BUT…

Honors Physics (No AP at my school).

LOLs:

(Because I’m an idiot and didn’t take them freshman year… and they’re required :[).

Don’t know what else…

Oh and Art History 1 and 2 at the local CC. Plus, self-studying Latin and maybe Egyptian.

We’re signing up for our classes this week. Next year, if all goes as planned, I’ll be taking:

AP Calc AB
AP US History
AP Biology
AP Chem
AP Eng Lit
Band

Self Study:

AP Calc BC
AP Gov

But that will depend if enough people sign up for all those classes/they aren’t in the same time slot.

If I don’t get one of those APs, I’ll either take Spanish 4 (basically a blowoff class really), or I’ll dual enroll with a local CC.

We don’t start registering for classes until April or May here.

I have no idea what I’m going to take next year (senior year):

We’re on a block schedule, and if we take AP courses, it uses two of our eight classes, as they have to be all year. BUT: first semester we get honors credit and second semester we get AP credit. How icky.

I’m guessing:

AP English
AP Gov/Econ (gov/econ is a required course for seniors) but maybe just CP?
Spanish 4 Honors
AP Bio or if they offer Organic or Analytical Chem (taking AP chem and Physics H this year)
AP Prob/stat or AP Calculus (maybe just Honors as well)

I’ll have to do some squishing most likely.

we sign up in the spring…

I’m basically going to take the rest of the AP classes my school has to offer:

AP Calculus AB
AP Biology
AP English Lit
AP Psychology
AP French Lang.

all of these are only available to seniors…

Dual Enrollment at Drexel:
some sort of psy./neuroscience course
calculus II
multivariate calculus

French IV Honors
American Literature
Pre - Calculus Honors
AP Biology
AP United States History
Study Hall
Outdoor Education

Yeah, we sign up in March, but I know what I’m going to take… (for my senior year)

IB Math HL Year 2
IB English HL Year 2
IB European History HL Year 2
IB French SL
Concert Choir
AP Physics C

The only thing that would prevent this is if some of these classes aren’t offered in corresponding hours of the day. Which would suck.

sophomoreeee

AP French Language
Intro to Psychology/Advanced Photography (1 semester each) OR Chinese I
AP Modern European History

Good lord, you guys know early. We don’t sign up for classes until May-ish.

I’m a senior this year, so I’ll probably be taking General Education classes at my #1 university (hopefully!!)

Will be a junior next year, and probably:

English-IV
Math-IV
U.S. History-II

AP French Lang

First three are required.

Senior, we sign up in Feb I think?
