Higher toefl score, more chances to get in ?

I scored a toefl score of 115 even though the score requirement of mit is 90.Will it show me more comptetive among other applicants ?Or are the all applicants scoring above 90 have the same chances ?This question might seem ridicilous but it actually makes sense while toefl is only a language proficiency test.

That. Once you hit the minimum, that’s all that matters.

It’s like a drivers’ license; nobody cares what score you got on the test, as long as you passed. When the cop is giving you a ticket, he won’t care if you passed the driving test with a 100 or with a 70, because you’re still getting the ticket.

^Pretty much. It’s essentially the same for other standardized tests such as the SAT/ACT and the required math and science subject tests - a high score is great but won’t stand out, while low scores without much to compensate could potentially weed you out since MIT is a rigorous place.
