how far is a fairly low score on TOEFL iBT is going to affect my App. if everything else appears to be solid (regarding the testing requirements) .There are not so much information about the TOEFL on the site. Is it really a decisive factor in my App. ,that anything around 90 is going to get me rejected? .I mean that's a very wild guess (it could be higher). How heavily is it going to be weighted?

From the admissions website:
So anything below a 90 is not acceptable, anything between 90-100 is not ideal, and anything above 100 is fine.

Okay ,I just thought it isn’t that rigid.
Anyway, in case I re-take the test in January, does the superscore policy still apply … ? and what should I do with the standard tests section in Part 2 of my Application? ,because the results will obviously be available after Part 2 is submitted.
Thanks so much.

TOEFL is the only test on which MIT has minimum requirements.

If you re-take the test in January, you should add a note to your application letting MIT know to expect your score. You can put your current scores on the application, and they will look out for your new scores when they come.

you must clear a 90.
