I was selected to be the captain of the cross country team last year by my old coach, and was the captain this year with a new coach. Me and the new coach really didn’t like each other or agree on many things, so my question is will colleges contact him if I put “captain of the cross country team” on my common app? Because I feel like he would not have much good to say about me. I’m not applying to compete in a college team cross-country team by the way. Thanks
No, the colleges would have no reason to contact him. Just be honest about your activities and leadership positions.
There are thousands of high schools in the country, and each of those has multiple sports teams and each of those teams can have multiple captains. Do you think an admissions office would have time to contact all those coaches?
