Highschool courses/ stats

So I’m currently a junior and I want to go into english/humanities. I do want to aim high for colleges.

The APs i took/are going to take are
World history, stats, language, micro, macro, Human geo, psych, Spanish language, literature, calc ab (maybe US history)

My gpa is good so far unweighted 4.0/4.0

my questions are if

  • I should take more science APs
  • I should take more challenging APs bc the ones I’m taking/took are not viewed as “challenging”

any other advice would be great!

Given you’re not going into STEM, IMO you don’t need the science APs. Just my .02, and my plans as well.

What does your school offer? APUSH/Gov/Euro would be good choices - USH probably best.

You should take the most rigorous courseload in which you can succeed. You/your counselor/teacher/parents can help decide on this.

What science course do you plan to take? As a non-STEM major, it would fall behind the above in importance. Just be aware that there will be applicants at the very top schools that have the above plus AP Science(s).

If your science includes biology, chemistry, and physics (not necessarily AP level), then you should be fine for most colleges. Some of the more selective colleges also prefer to see a fourth year of science of your choice at an advanced (e.g. AP) level.
