PRINCETON IS MY #1 choice, but other schools: Low Reach/High Match b/c of legacy
Dartmouth (pipe dream): Reach
Duke: Reach
Williams: Reach
Vanderbilt: High Match
Washington & Lee: Low match/safety
Colgate: Low Match
Wash U (safety, my step-grandpa was provost for like 50 years, my two other grandparents went there, and my high school's acceptance rate there is 61 %): I'll trust you here. :)

cool cool. bump 10 char

I'm pretty sure WL has a lower acceptance rate than Vandy

PS BMWDAN13:

Every society, no matter how rich or poor, operates on connections

richer societies just know how to keep it hush hush.

CDS, you have great stats! =]

Thanks WL. I'm open to suggestions for other schools, as well. I'm looking for a good school academically that also has an active social life.

you should def visit Vandy, Duke and Washington and Lee then. I'm sure you'll do great academically, and their students have VERY active social lives. W&L is in a small town, so Greek life is very big there.

Try being a little less asinine, and people would feel like chancing you.

Kyle you said the same thing last may when I posted. I don't like you, stop posting in my thread.

"Well the one for which I work is funded primarily by a private charity"

Funded by a private charity because the government won't give it any money.

well duh...gov't should be limited.

OK titan I understand what you're saying and I think we should agree to disagree. To put it bluntly, I would rather not talk about politics in this particular thread. I would prefer to discuss admissions to top schools.

Yes, connections exist, but in an ideal world they would not. We should always strive for an ideal world whenever practical.

I would be perfectly fine with giving up connections as long as other unfair advantages (URM, athletes, children of big donors, etc) were eliminated as well. Newsflash: it ain't gonna happen.

I lied sorry 11 for classes of 2008 and 2007. Must've been harvard with a lot more. http://spo.princeton.edu/index.php?id=112

No prob, 1MX. Anyone else have anything to say regarding my chances? No disparaging comments on connections/politics, please.

Well in a group of URM, Athletes, Alumni offspring, and children of big donors...3 of the 4 is something you are born into. Being a scholarship athlete is not an unfair advantage because you can have all the talent in the world, and that wouldn't matter unless you practice hard and have strong dedication. Being a scholarship athlete is a very big accomplishment.

eh ok cubsfan that's a valid point (p.s. GO CARDS), but as I've said before I'd rather people chance me than talk about unfair advantages. PEOPLE READING THIS, I AM NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE BUT PLEASE CHANCE ME OR DO NOT WRITE IN MY THREAD.
