HISPANIC CHANCE At Notre Dame.

So how would notre dame look at a Hispanic student with:

3.6 GPA
1240 SATs

Three years of student government, current ASB Treasurer
three years of pep band
two of jazz band
two years of Drama
two of mock trail, team captain
Boys State during one summer
A year and a half of weekend job at fast food place
Congressional Internship over one summer
lives in oregon

the GPA has given me nightmares for about a year and a half, but its unwighted and i have AP calc, AP physics, AP English 11, AP English 12, AP biology, Advanced Theology, advanced geometry, advanced algebra II, advanced precalc, honors chem, honors bio, honors english for all of HS under my belt.

i am fluent in spanish but took 2 years of Japanese (conflicts in scheduling prevented me from getting more). I am Catholic going to a catholic school, and i am intrested in PHILOSOPHY, or POLITICAL SCIENCE

i was told that if i was caucasian, this would be a hail mary for me. Regardless of what i thought about affirmative action, however, i was told that the fact remains that ND looks to increase ethnic diversity.

do i have a shot, especially if I demonstrate that ND is my TOP choice?

thanks, i hope reading this was easy enough

Though being Hispanic will help a lot, I just don't think that the grades or SAT are high enough, so I would say ND is a reach. Still apply, you never know, but I would have some backup options I am sorry to say.

I was just wondering what your AP test scores were. Sometimes (not always) a 5 on the test will make the grade you got in that class look better. Therefore, this might help them look at your GPA differently. If you can take the SAT again, I would -or even try the ACT. You never know what can happen but always have a back-up plan. Good Luck!
