I already applied for the HSF General College Scholarship. Ranges from 1,000-5,000$ a year. There is another scholarship I can apply to that will grant me 2,500$, but I don't want to receive less of a scholarship just because I applied to 2, & the lower amount given scholarship's award date notification is 2 months before the HSF General College Scholarship. I'm pretty confident I will receive a scholarship as a student going to transfer to a prestigious & expensive University with a 3.8+ GPA & EFC of 0. I'm trying to decide if I should apply to the 2nd scholarship just in-case, or not because it may cut the amount of money given in half. Advice? Is it somewhat common for students to receive the full 5,000 or 2,500+ for the General scholarship?

In the HSF FAQ it says,

"I have been selected and I applied to multiple scholarships. Can I wait to see if I can get a higher award amount?

Our intentions are to match the best scholarship to the selected students. Selected applicants are placed in the best programs possible. Once you are selected for one scholarship, you are out of the running for the other applications you submitted. We highly encourage you to accept the scholarship offer as there are no guarantees a better scholarship will be offered."
