Pretty cool, eh? Northwestern's trying to market itself as "Chicago's Big Ten team" to increase our fan base a little bit...I think it's working already. I've been seeing a lot of homeless people and kids from the inner-city wearing Northwestern gear, which just goes to show that while being elite, the school has garnered tremendous respect from people from all walks of life :)

Just got an email from the Northwestern Club of Chicago: ESPN in Wrigleyville (Clark/Addison) opens at 5 am this Saturday for students and 5:30 for alumni.

In addition, Sheffield Ave. will be converted to “Wildcat Way.” Wildcat Way is open to the public and admission is free.

I heard on the radio that, due to the way they laid out the field, there isn’t enought room behind one of the end zones for it to be safe for the players. So it’s been decided they will only play in the direction of the safer end zone. Scores off of interceptions and fumbles will be allowed to the other end zone. Bad news for those with seats off that one end zone, I guess. Hope there isn’t major confusion, but this has already got people taking about the game.

Even though it was a little weird with the teams going only one way - my son said the game and atmosphere was fantastic. He, of course, particulary loved the whole ESPN College Gameday morning. All I know is that he and his friends had a great time even though NU lost.

We are already bowl-eligible; without Dan, we literally play with the second string offense. Can’t really expect too much; our team did fight back and make it close for a while. But since we couldn’t generate much offense, our defense ended up on the field three times longer than theirs in the second half.
