Do Northwestern students go to Cubs/Sox games or Bears games at all? I know at some other Chicago schools theres a discounted ticket rate, is there at Northwestern? Is it common that kids go to games?

someone told me there was discount tickets for NU students on certain days for cubs games. i know for sure the Apr 16-18 games were discounted. there are more but idk. calling for sam lee

we just had a "nu day at wrigley field" and basically students went to the baseball game for a discounted price (subsidized by alumni and some other association) and got free t shirts too. people in my dorms went to some games earlier this year too

For many students - going to Wrigley is a rite of passage for Spring.

Not as many Sox fans and most baseball fans w/o a Chicago allegiance prefer the ambiance of Wrigley and the surrounding neighborhood (plus, Wrigley is considerably easier/closer to get to).

Bears tix, generally, are much more difficult to get.

There are also often organized trips (thru various organizations) to Churchill Downs, the Indy 500 and March Madness games (Chicago or Indy).

wrigley is ~20 minutes away on the el, really easy trip from campus, the el stations are throughout campus, never more than a two minute walk, and wrigley is right off of the addison stop.

soldier field is a little bit more difficult.

No discounted tickets or anything like that though? I'm from the area so I know how hard it is to get certain tix for certian games, but I've heard about discounted tickets for students...maybe it wasn't true though.

what about Bulls games?
The Bulls have become my new favorite team in the NBA since I'm coming to Northwestern.
