I've heard great things about IR and poly sci at CMC, but what about history. Is the history department as well regarded as the IR and poly sci departments?

I think history at CMC is underrated. The department is not as big as government or economics, but it is one of the more popular majors on campus. In general, the history professors are good teachers that care about their students, and several of them are also fairly prominent in their field. They all have their PhDs from Harvard, Princeton, etc.

Also, history majors really benefit from the consortium. Pomona has a great history department too, and they offer classes that CMC doesn’t, such as classes on African history. And CMC has classes that Pomona doesn’t, such as ones on the Middle East.
