How do people at Binghamton feel about the history program? What about the politics/philosophy/law program? I'm considering a double major in the two, is that common? I was also wondering if a lot of people take their notes in class on their laptops.
Thanks

I am a rising senior in the PPL program at Binghamton. People double major with Philosophy and PPL, or do Political Science/PPL or History too. You can double dip so classes that count for PPL will also count for History and vice versa. Though some classes for History will not count towards PPL if it is not based on American history (provided that you are on the American Law and Government track). The other track,(Western Law and Government) requires no political science classes but requires you to take Latin. I personally don’t know of anyone that is in the Western Law and Gov’t track. Mostly everyone does the American Law and Gov’t track. I personally find Philosophy the most interesting and it will teach you the most skills. PPL is not an easy major but if you work hard at it you can be successful. Having a combination of 3 subjects in one I think will give you a lot of brain power, rather than just majoring in one area. I’ll warn you that a lot of PPL majors intend to go to law school and become lawyers. I don’t want to, but if that’s what you want to do then it’s a good fit. And yes, there are a lot of people that use laptops to take notes in class. I only wish my laptop wasn’t so cumbersome so I could. lol Hope this helps!
