History Program

I’m a potential history major that would enter BU in the class of 2014. I was interested in finding out more information on the history program, and also possible double majors. I would like to double major in either history and political science, or history and art history. What are the requirements of the history program? Does BU offer a political philosophy major or at least courses in that realm? Haha, I know this is a lot but I’m interested.

BU is a good place for intellectual history and political philosophy. The history department attracts some very good grad students, and places undergrads in top programs. The intro classes are mostly good, which is exceptional among BU humanities departments in my experience.

Thats great! Thats exactly what I wanted to hear! Do you know what are the average class sizes and the core requirements? Thanks.

Many questions can be answered by looking at the CAS Bulletin.

I checked out the page and it was a great help. But from a history major’s perspective, how do you like the program at BU? Do you like the professors and how rigorous of a major is it? Thanks.
