Hmm...what are my chances to get Clemson Ntl. Scholar?

I've already been accepted into Clemson, my #1 choice, but I don't know if I made it into the Honors College yet. My dream would be to get into the National Scholars program. I go to a pitifully small school (under 500 students) that only offers 3 APs. Based on my info, does anyone think I have a shot at getting into either?

SAT: 770 V, 710 M, 710 W
AP Scores: 5-AP Bio. Will be taking AP English and AP Calc.
GPA: 4.88

So, whaddya think, people...

You'll get in the Honors College. I got my letter today, so yours is probably in the mail. What's this National Scholar's program, and are you in-state? Great stats, BTW.

Edit- Never mind, you're probably in-state. Out of curiosity, what HS do you attend? I happen to live in the upstate, 20 minutes from Clemson.

Johnsonville High School, the smallest one in the universe it seems. Thanks for the reply!

You should get it. But be very careful, Clemson has long been the academic laughing stock of the South. For much longer than fifty years, the saying has been that if you can stand on two feet, even if you need help, admission to Clemson is guaranteed. Plus, if you play football, they award you a scholarship and stipend of about $100,000 a year!!!

pzimmerm...was there really a purpose to that statement? Who cares how hard it is to get into Clemson, why are you trying to discourage bright students from going there. I wouldn't consider an average SAT score of 1230 guaranteed admission, or accepting 57% of their students. I'd like to know where you get your football statistics.

Thanks for that. I actually did get NS finalist, but I didn't get the scholarship. I'm still going to Clemson in the fall. Hollerrrrrrr =)

Your stats seem good enough to get into most, if not all, honors colleges. Clemson isn't super selective, so I think you'll be fine. You didn't get a full ride or anything??

I'm only $2000 off from a full ride now, and I still have a few more scholarships coming in. Things are good.
