HOBBIES, what gear to bring?

I have a lot of hobby equipment, I'm not quite sure whats really out in santa barbara so maybe anyone can just tell me what not to bring.

I have...

Rock Climbing Gear

Snowboarding Gear

Paintball Gear

Airsoft Gear

Fishing Gear

also a boogie board :)

I just don't want to bring anything thats going to be completely useless and crowd up my room.

haha i'm also wondering if there's any snowboarding spots in sb within like an hour. i'll cry if there isnt.

get yourself a mountain bike

Yeah I think I'm gonna go and buy a bike over there in santa barabara on craigslist or something.

just remember not to bring a expensive one. get something cheap walmart, target, craiglist comes to mind.

do bikes get stolen often? because I was planning to buy a road bike or a hybrid, nothing too expensive though.

teach me how to rock climb and fish dammit or else

I would like a mountain bike so i can actually ride in the mountains, so i need something decent. I will probably have a cheap bike and a nicer one

We cant forget hiking. And all you need are decent shoes

For sure southpasadena, I can definitely teach you how to rock climb.

Hiking is a big part of rock climbing, so yes, definitely hiking shoes.

Bikes get stolen all the time... Even with locks! The closest snowboard mountain south is Big Bear which is about 3.5 hours away. Hope this helps anyone

pple are using the wrong locks. Half the locks i have seen on bikes are the cheap ones that can be picked in 5 seconds with a tool available on the internet for $5

I would've never thought people out there would steal bikes... I guess I'm just gonna get a cheap bike.

no easy way to go snowboarding? that's a bit disappointing. i think mountain high is closer than big bear though.

ya your right mtn high is closer but kinda sucks...

how many hours does it take to get to mammoth? From UCSB of course.

ahh I hope its close! I had a season pass to Heavenly this past season...Kinda bummed to give up the convenience of Tahoe. I think Mammoth is 6 hours away or so. Gotta go south and then back up north. I think there's only one freeway to get there and you have to go down to LA to get on it...sucks
