Does anyone know if this is valued by college admissions? Is it worth it? Good program?
My D went to the state leadership seminar which was well organized and a lot of fun for participants. Her hs paid for her to attend, so I don’t know the price and it was several years ago, too. It was a good investment by the hs, she really became committed to serving in a larger capacity.
Afterward she was on a community youth philanthropy board, statewide youth wellness (anti-drugs/anti-bullying) campaign as well as holding leadership positions throughout hs. I think that weekend influenced her willingness to step up into these roles and gave her some tools to organize groups successfully. I don’t know if it’s valued by colleges, but I know it was worth it for her.
Colleges like to see service and leadership experiences.
They particularly like it if you can show accomplishments.
