Hi, I was selected to be my schools youth ambassador, they only pick a couple from each sophomore class and there is nominations involved. Is this beneficial for college apps? I was picked for demonstrating leadership skills in my community. Will college see this and view me as a leader, and will this help in anyway?

Congrats! HOBY is a fantastic experience that combines leadership, volunteering and FUN! My son was selected his sophomore year and loved it. Colleges will see that you participated if you put it on your college app, which my son did. I think because it is so selective, it does demonstrate to colleges that you are a leader at your school. It is a national program so most colleges will know what it is.
Can put it in your brag sheet, too, so your recommenders know about it!
