I applied for colleges in December and I still have some time before I find out. My problem is that NOW I have a clearcut first choice (which I was trying to avoid having). How do you "forget" a school that you would love to go to...and stop yourself from being disappointed if it doesn't work out?

Fall in love with your other schools. Just ignore #1, and focus on other schools. Read the website daily. Set your wallpaper to a picture of the campus. Read through a course catalogue or something. Just find out as much as you can about the school.

only read about one school per week and get yourself fixated on that specific one. by the end of every week you'll have something to love about any given school you applied to
