thinking about college stresses me out

I'm getting really stressed out about applying to college in the fall. I have 3 subject tests, an AP exam, and the SAT to take by summer. I have so many outside school activities I'm anxious to get involved in, but I have to wait until I get a car. The wait is killing me. I've been visiting colleges and even though I've learned a lot about the colleges from visiting, visiting has made me even more worried. I keep worrying that I'm not good enough to get in to the schools I want to. I'm trying to forget about college for now and just relax, but it keeps creeping back into my mind.

I guarantee you a million times over that you are certainly not alone.

Try thinking about one thing at a time- don't plan too far ahead, that can be daunting. Create a study regime and stick to it, and it'll all be over before you know it.

Try finding a few safety schools you really like, and then "fall in love" with them. Scour their brochures, websites, course listings and create a happy image of yourself there. (And visit!)

File the reach schools in your mind like you would a lottery ticket--chances are mathematically slim, but would be a nice bonus.

Work day-to-day for good grades but focus on the new knowledge you are absorbing. This way you can begin to determine a possible college major and life pursuit/profession. Once you have a passion, success will come from your enthusiasm and participation. And many colleges can provide you with the necessary training.

A top-rung school will offer certain opportunities, but be very competitive and demanding once you are in. A lower level college could allow you to shine at the top, also providing great opps. Keep looking at both sides of the coin. It will all work out!

Stay off of CC for now--this place will just get you more stressed. Realize there is not one best option, but many paths. Trust God and/or yourself that you will find your way. In other words--keep this in perspective!!
