opinions on Hollins, Sweet Briar, Coll. of Charleston- one vs. another?Best?

COC has the best location.

Disagree Barrons. Depends on your particular interests. Hollins and Sweet Briar are in the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mtns. respectively. Both are bucolic beauties. There are definite cultures at each school.

There are other choices in the same region as Hollins: Bridgewater College, a small coeducational school with Equestrian team, highly supportive faculty and staff, warm and friendly environment with good academics. Its a great choice for those who like Hollins but want a co-ed school in the same region. Also look at Roanoke College, Randolph College and James Madison University.

CoC is a great school. But its public, somewhat large (compared to a small private) and its urban-esque…meaning in downtown Charleston. There are wonderful sites in Charleston but also some major distractions, including the nearby beaches.

I don’t think it’s fair to categorize JMU with Randolph, Hollins, Roanoke, etc. These are small liberal arts school (SBC has ~600 students; JMU has thousands).
