My final decision comes down to Holy Cross vs. Providence College. I know the schools are very different academically, but I would very much appreciate a second opinion. I am undeclared, and I'm hoping to choose the best fit for me. I like the location of Providence much more than Holy Cross. I am also not concerned with the aid because I would be paying the same for both.
Help!

Holy Cross is more selective and prestigious than Providence. I also like the HC campus better than PC.

If you like the location more in Providence, you might feel too constricted in Worcester. It is a better school overall but Providence is a solid school also. My daughter who is at HC, had Providence on her list after visiting although once she went to Holy Cross, she put it lower for personal reasons.

Holy Cross does have a free shuttle that goes to Providence and Boston weekly which I didn’t see an equivilent too at many colleges. They also have shuttles to Walmart to pick up things. My daughter turned down a better school than Holy Cross (for many) so I understand “fit” but do make sure you visit both and look into what you might major in.

I just recently visited both of the schools and still got a better vibe at Providence. Should I not make my decision based on where I felt more comfortable? Because I am aware Holy Cross is ranked #39 in the nation and Providence doesn’t come close to that.

HC is ranked 32nd in the nation for liberal arts colleges per US News. If you feel strongly that you prefer and like Providence then go for it. Do really well at Providence and you will have equivalent grad school and career options as HC. It isn’t the college but what you do at the college that matters most.

If you intuitively feel Providence College is a better option, it really is a better option. I wouldn’t put any more stress into it, send them the deposit and just go there.

I just really don’t wanna make the wrong decision… Does anyone think I will be missing out on great opportunities?

In all likelihood you will have the same opportunities. The only thing you will miss is the slight prestige of having gone to a significantly better ranked college but this is probably not worth it if you truly prefer Providence.

There is not really a huge difference here, I would consider the lesser cost.
