I am going to NCSU in the fall in the honors program to to double major in engineering and economics or international relations.
Great job @fletch2020!
Thanks again for the responses regarding umbrella schools, everyone!
Thank you all for this thread! We are now entering the last year of our homeschooling journey. My younger son has been homeschooled his entire life. I cannot begin to express how much I will miss this lifestyle.
But - life pushes on, and I’m very excited for my son’s options for college moving forward.
He has a strong academic record. He is not the stereotypical applicant to places like Duke or UVA. Yet he’ll probably be applying to both of those.
He fell in love with George Mason U when we went for a visit. They have an honors college, to which he will certainly apply.
Probably also apply to Loyola Maryland, James Madison (loved that one, too!), Gettysburg (kind of close to home, so it doesn’t seem as appealing to him), Hood College, and Juniata College.
He will be doing the Duke U Summer College program. I’m slightly worried that he will fall in love with Duke during this experience. If he manages to get accepted, we will be in a very tough bind with financing it.
Anyway, thank you all for your inspiring posts!
Welcome @AnitaMarch! Hope you will keep us posted over the next year. I will be cheering your son on from the sidelines, and love to see homeschooled students succeed in whatever they choose to do.
Many many blessings over that sweet (and many time stressful) senior year that’s coming. We are about to have my youngest son’s graduation party! What a wonderful journey it’s been.
Thank you for your kind words, @SouthFloridaMom9 ! It is a bittersweet time for sure. And indeed stressful. We hope to have all of his college apps completed by Sept 1 because he has a demanding fall schedule.I don’t want him totally wigged out from Sept-Dec!
Enjoy your youngest’s graduation party, and congratulations on completing your homeschool journey!
I want to do this as well. I’m really so overwhelmed right now.
I can’t find a template that is arranged by subject as opposed to grade level.
I am also not having him DE because I think it would be less academic than the route we are going.
We live in an urban area and the CC are just an extension of high school.
Heck…Cal state has lower level math and English.
I’m really freaking out about this whole thing…
@BTMSC98 Here is a transcript by subject from HSLDA. Just google HSDLA subject transcript.

Thank you…I love it
