Homecoming game

Is there anything particularly special about the homecoming football game? I am trying to decide whether or not to go. I was sick with a stomach virus most of the week and am exhausted and seriously behind on homework. I'd planned to go and was looking forward to it but now I am wondering if I should stay out of the rain and just catch it on tv and get some work done. I don't want to feel like I missed out as I probably won't be able to get tickets next year, which is my final year here, but I have no idea what homecoming even means in college world.

I think it is a big alumni weekend but does not mean much to regular students. I’m pretty old and have never noticed anything special about going to one nor regretted missing one. You’ll be better off to rest and recuperate.

Twisted, the rain is supposed to hold off until after the game is over and it is not supposed to be hot or sunny today. I hope you’re feeling better. Biggest difference for homecoming is the alumni band members, cheerleaders and playerse show up. The alumni band joins in the halftime show and post-game concert. I’m not going this year.

I decided to try and go, it’s already 11 and I know we were supposed to get there super early but hopefully it’ll still be okay. I just wasn’t able to wake up when I heard all the parties starting at 8 this morning. :stuck_out_tongue: Worst comes to worst if I start feeling like crap I’ll just have to come home early, it’s not like that’s never happened before!

What a game! That was exciting. I ended up staying back to watch it.

I am really glad I went, I had a lot of fun. It was a little strenuous for me but there weren’t very many people in my section this time for some reason so I could sit down and rest periodically without missing anything-- though the people who were there were sloppy drunks so that wasn’t so awesome. Someone threw up and passed out next to me and I missed about 15 minutes because I was too distracted wondering if the medics were actually going to be able to revive him, it took them a while. They took him to the first aid station and everything and he ended up coming back 20 minutes later. I was kind of surprised they let him come back.

Wow, Twistedxkiss, it is definitely a scene there in the student section. You should keep a journal of the games, maybe someday it will be a good book - sort of Snow White amid the students gone wild!

Does anyone know why there wasn’t a mud bowl this year? I heard one of the frats was kicked off campus. Is this true?

Mud bowl finals aren’t until the Ohio state game right?

It’s the Penn State game now. HC was too soon to get everything ready.

Sooooooooo what’s mud bowl?

Football played in a mud pit (last time I checked, it was outside of the brick fraternity at the intersection of South U and Washtenaw).
