We used a combination of recommenders - language tutor. And community college. I also had him toss in the leader for his extra curricular activities
My D’s recommenders were her English teacher, her Model UN advisor (through the Y), and, when she needed it, a language professor. He was the last choice because his written English wasn’t as strong as his spoken.
We outsource English to an online school (because it stresses me to teach that) and languages to our state flagship university (because I do not speak the 2 languages D studies!).
