Hometown summers

Hey all. I'm curious about what college kids do in the summer, especially if they went to a college far from their hometown. Do you hang out with your high school friends again? The summer after freshman year in college sounds like a no-man's land.

And for those of you that didn't exactly have the most happenin fun times in HS, and won't be hanging out all summer w/ your old HS friends, what did you do?

Thanks.

work while staying at home, take classes, etc...some people move into off-campus housing after freshman or sophomore year so they have somewhere to stay over summers to work and take classes

i'm staying in my college's housing and getting an internship. my college is in new york city so this is not hard. i know some people from other colleges who are staying in new york or other major cities for the summer as well; some people who stay at home and have jobs and just dont hang out with their high school friends; some people who travel; etc etc. you can basically do anything you want, since there's no real pressure to anything resume-building for after college yet.

traveling overseas.

I'm not tied to a job or a lease yet, so why not

my first summer break i got an internship and lived in my college town :)

i don't really have friends at home anymore, but i think i'm headed there this year. not so cool...
