Let me break it down for ya'll:
Major: Economics
Accepted into UC Davis and Drake university. Probably won't get into Cal and UCLA so I'm not going to bother thinking about those colleges right now plus I was waitlisted by UCSD which means I'm probably going to get rejected cause you know what they say about being on ze waitlist!

ANYWAY.

Which school would be better for Economics? Drake or UC Davis. Also, what about the campus life? I like warmth and love to soak in the sun so I think UC Davis would be good, but I'm scared people there aren't....er, friendly? I've never been to California, I'm an international applicant. So if any of ya'll know anything about the peeps in Drake and UC Davis, puhlease let me know!

Drake is very heavily Greek, so check out the availability of Greek life for internationals.
I’d say UC Davis is “better” but it depends on the atmosphere you seek - Drake is better if you want a close-knit student body, a more conservative student body, smaller classes that are easier to get into.
ps: you might not want to use “homies” until you actually know people to whom to say it and master the specific context in which it’d be appropriate to use it.:)

UC Davis by a mile. It is just a higher level university of more national reputation. But there is a huge difference in size between these. I hadn’t heard of Drake honestly. I know a lot of colleges but not all. A glance show that it is quite small. That implies a more intimate experience with smaller classes, especially likely in the first two year. California is friendly and casual and Davis is in a more remote area which should create a friendlier atmosphere and community feel. You will be able to bike all over campus. You will get a chance to visit San Francisco on a long weekend which is a lot of fun.

Also note the major requires about 61 to 64 units. You will take additional units for breadth requirements and electives. You will have almost the whole university to explore.

Overall Davis will get you farther, has better weather, more national prestige, and more options for an international to go visit interesting places.
I must insist that you look into Greek Life (as in, how common is it for internationals to be goven bids and to “survive” pledging? And can you afford the extra fees?) Because if you’re not Greek at Drake, your social life is severely impacted.
