mid-year reports.

Can someone just explain to me the importance of mid-year reports? Do they carry a lot of weight or do colleges just want to see you're not totally slipping or anything. I had a 4.0 first quarter this year, but this quarter I think I'm getting a B+ in spanish (the rest of my grades are A's), meaning my rank will probably go down as well. Is this going to be a huge detriment? It's stressing me out.

I'm not trying to be dramatic about a B+... I'm just wondering.

I'm wondering the same...I received a B in physics this term!

bump

10 char.

The importance a college places in mid-year reports truly varies. Mostly, they do count a lot; this is the colleges way of saying "hey, are they going to keep up their work ethic and do well in college or are they just going to slack off some more?"
That said, I don't think a B+ is going to hurt you that much if at all. They understand that senior year is stressful and they factor in that plus the E.C.s that you've taken on this year.
All in all, don't worry! You'll be fine. Plus it's spanish-not a math/science/english core class.

If my school does a re-rank based on the first semester grades and my rank increases, will colleges look more at the new rank?
