Hi! Can you chance me for Columbia ED? I'm a current junior.

I'm a white male from rural Georgia. My family makes a little less than 50k. I'm a first generation college student -- my dad has a two year degree and my mom has a h.s. diploma. I'm also gay, if that helps.

My unweighted GPA is 3.99; my weighted GPA is about 4.6. I'm currently third in my class out of 250. I attend a ho-hum public school.

On my AP Human Geo exam I got a 4; on my APUSH exam I got a 5. I plan on getting a 5 on my Lang and Gov't exam.

ECs - I'm editor of the yearbook (have been since junior year), president of Gavel Club (which derives from Toastmasters International), president (and founder, or at least the person who started it up) of National English Honor Society, and vice president of Politically Active Students. This spring I am also the editor for our school's new literary magazine, which I initiated. I am a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and the Youth Advocacy Board, a group composed of the best students from around the county who advocate for local teens. I recently spearheaded a campaign to end abstinence education in our county and get people involved in discussion about contraception and comprehensive sex ed. I also hold a part-time job as a host/waiter.

I attended the Georgia Governor's Honors Program in Communicative Arts (with a minor in French) and won a regional Silver Key in Poetry for the The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. I also received a full scholarship from CNN to attend the Georgia Journalism Academy my freshman year. I also frequently publish for Huffington Post Teen and many other literary magazines, and currently work as freelancer writer for ProductMonkey.

If I get into Columbia, I plan on double majoring in English/Creative Writing and Human Rights, with a possible minor in Urban Studies.

I visited the school at the end of my sophomore year and just fell in love with the school, the people, and the city.

Can you chance me for Columbia ED? Thanks! <3
