Honestly, How are YOU Paying for College?

FA + Scholarship + some loans

My parents pay for books and give me some spending money.

Parents are both paying for it through private loans.

I have a merit scholarship, federal grants, and a work-study. It’s great because I got a refund and I can use the work-study money on whatever I want. The merit scholarship is guaranteed every year, but I hope the federal grants won’t go down too much over the next 3 years of college, because my parents really cannot afford to pay for both me and my sister.

mmmm… half with grants and the other with loans…

Financial aid, mom/dad, loans, and I worked

I’m mostly on financial aid - and I would LOVE to know how the hell someone could afford NYU, since that was one of the reasons I couldn’t go…

The parental units are paying for everything.

Bank of mom and dad. But just wait till I go to law school.

Do I hear financial aid and working 30 hours a week? Indeed, I do. Although, I have to admit that it’s slightly my fault as I am the one choosing to live in an apartment (in Q@#W$ER%^T&Y* Boulder no less) rather than at home. But- still.

Parents cover tuition, housing, food, books, etc.
I use my own savings for fun and entertainment.

Scholarship, huge grants, work-study(about 10 h/week), very little support from family, savings, and government money.

20-25k in loans. Full ride for the school though, some scholarship, tons of grants, workstudy, and parents. we don’t pay any tuition. I can’t pay for housing and etc stuff so thats where the loans walk in…

My dad pays for my tuition (which is about 2k a year… I love Canada).

I pay my rent and other expenses with the money I earn at my summer job. Sometimes my parents will give me some extra money for grocery though.

I have a scholarship that pays $2250 per year for 4 years, so that’s a little more than a quarter of my tuition. My job pays for rent completely, and what I earn from over summer/winter breaks is around equal to my scholarship. Loans pay the rest of tuition, and I get some of my food/spending money from my parents (the rest is from me).

It’s all scholarships and grants. No loans. If it weren’t for being poor and smart, I’d either be at community college or Burger King.

I got a full-ride, minus room and board. I did pay for my books, however. But, as a commuter student, my parents pay for my travel expenses (which are very small, by the way).

I have a $6,500 yearly scholarship, an $8,800 grant, a stafford loan, and my parents pay the rest.

parents, lol.

****ing scholarships, and loans {to get buy on commodities/provisions}

NYU is super expensive, it sucks. The City’s great though, but it’s so easy to spend your cash where it shouldn’t be spent.

Scholarships, loans, work, parents…
