How bad could it be?

This depresses me haha...
"No Chipotle locations found within 30 miles of Terre Haute, IN, USA.
Search again with another city, state or zip code. Or move."

But other than that, what's good and bad about Terra Haute?

I am trying to get out of this place desperately do not come and yes bloomington might be the closest burrito haven for you other then the 6 local taco places.

This is my son’s freshman year at Rose, and he has yet to have a problem, when he’s not studying, finding something to do for fun. He has made plenty of friends who always find something to do when they want to hang out and that’s more important than asking, “What is there to do in Terre Haute?”. If you haven’t visited the campus, please try to. You’ll be able to see first hand what a typical day is like, and I doubt you’ll find many students complaining about the location or lack of fun. There is too much good about Rose, both academically and extracurricular-wise, to complain about the location. If you take the time to find friends at Rose, you won’t be bored.

Choco,

My son attended a summer program at Rose this past summer and, after hearing all the negativity about Terre Haute, was worried. He actually was pleasantly surprised when he got there. While not a booming metropolis, Terre Haute has some eating and shopping places and a charming little downtown (or so I thought when I picked him up.) We’re from a large southern metropolitan area, but my son feels he would be very happy at Rose.

I agree with both givings and mom4him above.

It’s nothing spectacular, but also not something that’s a total downer, either. I’m a sophomore now, and when I lived on campus freshman year I didn’t really leave campus that much anyway. When I did, it was to go to walmart or fast food - it was fun enough to hang out with friends and do things on campus.
