Do you think UCLA thinks this is good? I want to make my dad proud :p. (and my mom haha)
Great grades. Good job. Good ECs, Practicing for your SAT or ACT? Put in a little time each week on test prep. That way it is manageable. Have you taken any practice tests to see if SAT or ACT best? Some people do better on one or another. You are doing great. I am sure your parents are already very proud.
Sounds good so far. Go on the UCLA forum, you might get more ideas and feedback. And, do these things to make yourself proud too, not just your parents:-)
You are doing great. But PLEASE never put all of your hopes and dreams into attending one particular school. There are many great options for college out there. Focus on making your parents and yourself proud by doing your best and being a good, kind, involved person – don’t allow your self worth to be determined by a group of admissions officers who never met you.
^ I can not agree more with above poster! Don’t put all your hopes on one school alone, especially one which rejects 40% of its straight A’s applicants (such as you) every year!
Great job on having an SAT plan. Summer is the best time to get in your test prep. As far as the taking the ACT take a practice ACT on your own. I think you might be able to take one online on the ACT site. If you do far better on practice/self scored ACT you might want to take that instead of SAT. Some people do a lot better on one than another. If you are taking SAT through school any way, then I would suggest you not take ACT till you have tried a practice test to see how you do. Good luck. You are doing great. Keep it up. You will have a lot of great options in the near future. December and January of junior year may be a good time to take SATs. You are doing great.
