Honestly, what's the point of the essay section on the SAT

<p>I wrote what I thought was a coherent and logical essay. The question was about whether having strong morals helped or hindered your success. I wrote about how Alex Rodriguez initially was successful because of his steroid use but his reputation was tarnished when the truth came out. I also said that a store owner who lied about his products would initially impress some customers and sell a lot of merchandise but would eventually lose all of his customers when his lying was exposed. I came to the conclusion that morals are necessary for long term success. I filled the whole space. I made no grammar errors and I used intelligent-sounding words. I only got a 10 though - so there’s something else they’re looking for.</p>

<p>To quote pandapals, “All that matters is that she could write coherent sentences, write a decently long essay, and throw in some cool words for extra goodie points.”</p>

<p>And this is used to to measure people for college suitability???
As I said before, they should dump it.</p>
