Curious about essay scoring

My daughter took the SAT on March 8. She said in 25 minutes, she only had enough time to give two examples to support her position, and her essay was about a page and a third. It sounds like she did do good introductory and concluding paragraphs. Of course, I have no idea how good her actual essay was, but if the writing itself is good, how much would things like a page and a third instead of two full pages, and two examples instead of three matter to a score?

I'm just idly curious. Since the essay is going away soon, I know that is probably the least important part of the SAT. I always thought the essay portion was a lousy way to judge writing skills. Heck, I write for a living and I don't think I could think up three pertinent examples and write a two page essay in 25 minutes.

I’ve heard it is sometimes quantity or quality for the graders unfortunately. I’m pretty great when it comes to writing essays in a school situation, but writing a solid essay in 25 minutes is a bit daunting and stressful. I think if she has really good material in her essay, has good grammar, used good vocabulary, and the structure is good, she should get a good score. I would guess a 9 or 10.
