honors classes at Burnett

I'm considering Burnett, but I don't fully understand the program.

I swear I read on their site a few weeks ago that you take 2 honors classes per term and all... but then today I went on their site and as far as I can see, you only take Freshman Symposium and one honors communication class as an undergraduate, and then take 2 honors classes as a business/marketing major.

Anyone know more about this? Does it just not detail that you take the same classes that are on the course outline, they're just honors instead of regular?

My S is in Burnett. He's taking symposium now. With that, he has 3 additional honors courses. Although, they prefer you only take two/semester to make sure everyone who wants one can get in ... he had a schedule mishap with his First Years Exploration Counselor putting him in a wrong class so he was allowed to take a 3rd honors class so that he might be able to switch into the correct class without totally destroying his schedule. Next semester, he'll only have 1 Honors to even things up to the 4 they want you take for your lower level classes. He'll be taking honors composition because if you have to take comp, they require it be honors. After that he'll have completed the lower level requirements and will move on to the upper level. Can't remember them all at the moment, but if you look in the catalog under Burnett, they list them. He will also do those requirements with the counsel of his Economics advisor to make sure he's fitting the upper level honors requirements into his major in the best way. I would definitely consider Burnett. BTW, if you are local or if you can get down here ... go to one of the Friday afternoon meet and greets at Burnett. We found that invaluable. They really took the time to answer questions and address issues we had.

Thanks for the info. Ive been accepted, but I'm still not sure if I want to take that route or just take the easy road for college.

I'm only about 2 1/2 hours away, and when I do the open house on a January Saturday, maybe I'll skip out of school here and head down Friday to look at Burnett.
