Honors College decisions should be in our mail boxes this week. Post your decision, your stats, and whether you recieved a monetary award with your acceptance. I think they may have changed the honors college this year and acceptance doesn't necessarily mean money, but I'm not sure.

didnt get in honors college... im 10/780 students....i dont remember my sats (i hate that test with such a passion).

If your admit packet didn't mention honors does that mean you weren't accepted into the program?

Anyone receive an acceptance to Honors yet?

I got an acceptance to Honors today, it's in a folder with a "Special Programs" tab on the spine in with the rest of the material in the big blue folder. Also, a half tuition Presidential Academic Scholarship. I feel very lucky.

Congratulations Alhambra!

Thanks, researchmaven, I keep taking the packet out of the envelope and rereading it- I can't quite believe it, especially the merit aid- otherwise I couldn't go. I feel a bit stunned.

What are your stats, Alhambra?

ye...i got the Presidential half tuition scholarship but no special programs tab...oh well....im going to UVA out of state, most likely anyway :)

researchmaven I'm an IB kid and don't know how our grades convert to a four point scale, but 800, 600, 740 (SAT l) and 800, 750 (SAT II). It's all a lottery anyway. Good luck everyone.

I got my letter for the University Honors Program today, but I still haven't gotten my big acceptance package OR my financial aid letter.....weird.....

If you haven't received your big acceptancd package, I would encourage you to call the admissions office. 1-800-447-3765.

i also got a half-tuition presidential scholarship, but i did not get into the honors program, which i think is kind of weird. I'm good enough for them to pay half my tuition but not to be in the honors program?? well, if i go, i'll def apply again as a sophomore. that scholarship is making this decision very hard for me, b/c i was seriously considering emory, but w/o a scholarship there and no financial aid.....

krocket...how do you know what your financial aid package for emory is yet??? i'm in the same position, deciding between gw and emory based on financial aid...

i don't actually know.... but i'm assuming i won't be getting any need based financial aid at Emory. if i got an academic scholarship at emory i would be seriously shocked because i'm somewhat below their GPA average. perhaps i shouldn't be so quick to assume, but i'm fairly certain i won't be getting one. I don't know which to pick, although i still need to visit emory (and my parents might make the decision for me).... which are you leaning towards right now?

i got the half and honors program. probably will turn it down for a full ride to USC.

krocket: i think i'm leaning toward emory...i'd rather be there. although i want to do poly sci, so i know gw would be great also. i'm from MD though, so i've been around D.C. all my life and would love a (warmer) change. it all depends on financial aid though.

Regarding Honors, I was told that only 150 students were accepted into Honors. So, it is probably the top one or two percent of their applicant pool. This is very competitive indeed and so , congratulations to those who got it, and to those who didn't not to worry; honors is a small minority of the students.

it said in the letter that over 1,200 applied for honors with "130 spaces"...and i wasnt sure if they meant that they admitted 130 or they admitted more but only had spaces for 130. at any rate, i hope it means some good financial aid is coming my way!

accepted to honors and 6 yr BA/JD... didn't say anything about Somers Womens programs, so i'm assuming i didnt get in
