Honors College

Do I have a shot at getting into the honors college at USC?
33 ACT
4.22 GPA (I think this is what would kill my chances)
4 APs so far (2 more senior year)
3 subject tests (740 on US History, waiting on two other scores)
Good ECs (300+ hours community service, student congress, 2 varsity sports)
Thanks!

I think you have a good shot. Honors admissions is a little more holistic than general admissions, which means although they look at scores, GPA, and course rigor, they also look at extracurriculars and your essay responses.

Honors admission depends on a pretty long application with lots of essays.
Beside GPA, they’ll look at curriculum rigor (do you have all three from bio, Chem, physics? 4 years of a language? Precalculus or calculus?..)

@MYOS1634 I have taken honors bio, chemistry, and am taking physics senior year. I will be taking AP Spanish my senior year (5th year), and took honors precalc junior year and will take calc ab senior year.

(Disclosure: student at U of SoCal) If you’re looking at the honors college you might also look at U So.Cal. admissions and the generous scholarships they give. USC and USC are both great schools in my book, though you have high enough stats that both schools’ scholarship committees could give you a second look.
