I was wondering if you had to dorm in the honors dorms? I've heard they are extremely nice obviously but I feel like you are already confining yourself to a certain type of person once you arrive at the school. I dont want to discriminate against the other Honor's kids but who knows if they will be more focused on academics and against any sort of partying of the such. I feel like to be in the action especially your first year you have to dorm in the crappy dorms to get the full college experience. Just wondering what people's thoughts are. Thank you.

no, it’s not mandatory that students enrolled in the honors college house in the honors dorm (just looked this up a few days ago)…

however…

it is probably true that the honors dorms won’t be the party dorms, but that’s nice, because you can always go to the parties in other dorms, but if your dorm was the party dorm, you’d never be able to escape the party scene and then you’d get no hw done, and never be able to sleep.

just my own opinion. If i go to UVM, i think i’ll probably opt for the honors dorms, even knowing that they won’t be the center of the party

I would strongly recommend accepting the honors dorm, or you take the chance of being tripled, or ending up in the Trinity dorms, or both (like my D).

i was wondering this too…got admitted into the honors college but i don’t know if i wanna miss out on the “college experience” because i’m in the honors dorms…also…do many honors students not live in the honors dorms? or only a few?

anyone???

I have a friend who lives in an honor’s dorm. It’s really nice and the kids do have fun. I would highly recommend living in an honor’s dorm.

do the majority of the honors students live in the honors dorms? or is it more half-and-half
