Anybody have any idea about this program? What are the benefits of such program in terms of education. research and future opportunities over regular non-honor students? Apparntly the program is very selective with only 25 students among 700+ admission. My kid got admitted to Carnegie Mellon with no scholarship but Rutgers Honors with $10000/yr scholarship. Not sure whether Carnegie is worth the money.
Any opinions?

The Rutgers SEBS Honors program is excellent! (D1 just got her notification this week!). I don’t know about Carnegie Mellon, but for the program D1 is interested in, Rutgers was her #1 and only choice, so the Honors is just icing on the cake. With the $10k scholarship, your COA to Rutgers is $10-11k, hard to beat that for a top research university!

I assume your son attended the interview day in late March. Did you speak with any of the students that were giving tours? All of them are in the Honors program and have great stories of the research they are involved in. Did you attend the parents’ session when they kids were writing? Despite the one helicopter mom dominating the Q&A (hope you weren’t her!), I thought the faculty gave sufficient information on the program.

You might get more feedback is you post on the Rutgers forum.

Thanks for your feedback! I am new to CC and don’t know how to get to Rutgers Forum.
Unfortunately, I did not go to the intensive session you talked about. My husband and kid did but you know about some husbands :-)…
If you have a link to Rutgers Forum, could you please send it to me?
Much appreciated!
