So I was accepted to the NB SAS RU Honors Program for the class of '15 and was very pleased (:

However, I am still unsure of how beneficial this program is for undergraduate students.
I am hoping to be a poli sci major w/ a minor in philo and I want to be on the pre-law track. I applied to ivies but am not counting on getting in but i was accepted into Northeastern early action and am counting on getting accepted into George Washington University.

I would love any feedback concerning the honors program at the school of arts and sciences at new brunswick & would greatly appreciate any advice!

Im currently debating between GWU and RU, but for some reason i feel like RU honors tops GWU.

thank you!

go to GWU. its in DC. AMAZING internship opportunities! at least thats what they said when i toured it. Unless $$ is an issue. GWU is one of the most expensive colleges in the country.

what was your sat score? I also want to get into the honors program at Rutgers NB.

Looking for info as well from current students-my son was also accepted into Honors and with the scholarship he was given it is an extremely attractive offer.

We don’t hear much good from NJ residents but where we live (NE) the school has a good reputation.

Rutgers is a good school and has some top tier programs (pharmacy, engineering, business & agriculture come quickly to mind). Kids from NJ slam it when they are in HS, as it’s the state school and based on old info (everyone’s safety) they think they can do better. Fast forward to now, our HS tells kids & parents at the beginning of Jr year, Rutgers should NOT be considered a safety school unless you have 1800+ SATs & a 3.5 GPA.

We couldn’t utter the word in our house until September when my DD started to look at info I printed out and realized it had the exact program she wanted. She also started to talk to kids from her HS that are now Rutgers Freshman and realize some of the smartest kids from our HS are there. Everyone there she speaks with loves Rutgers, even though it was not the first choice of most of them.

PS - I’m from the DC area and would note that the RU & GW campuses are quite different, so it should boil down to where you feel most comfortable or which is a better financially for you.
