I am trying to apply for honors housing. The information they sent me says to go online and accept the honors college offer. When I go there they ask for my top three dorm choices. Do I need to apply through the regular housing system or just on there? Which dorms are the best for honor students? I want plenty of quiet time and not too much partying, but I don't want a stuffy boring dorm either.

Also, I'm just applying on the off chance that I do go there, however MSU isn't my first choice right now. How do I get my deposit back if I decide not to go to MSU?

I'm not sure about honors housing but to get your deposit back you just have to send a letter canceling your request and asking for a refund of your deposit.

You need to apply for housing through both honors college and the regular forms. Honors college dorm choices override the regular choices though. There are no honors dorms, but there are honors floors on specific dorms. I wouldn't say that each honors floor is significantly different throughout each dorm. On the honors floor there are always a good selection of kids-there are a couple of crazy partiers, quite a few super-study-recluses, and a good amount of "balanced" study-hard/play-hard students as well. I think the guys side is normally pretty loud, while the girls side of the honors floor seems rather quiet in comparison to me.
