Honors Housing?

<p>So we got the housing info today...for those in UofM honors, are you doing honors housing? Anybody know the pros/cons? Any current students with info? I'm on the fence about honors housing at UofM, so if anybody has any opinions or information, that would be great. Thanks!</p>

<p>I applied for Honors housing because of the Central Campus location, which my friends tell me is quite a bit more convenient than being at North Campus.</p>

<p>Classes are grades on an easier curve, you get to live in South Quad (<-- best dorm for freshman socially and close to all classes).</p>

<p>I am not a student, but my daughter is a freshman this year in honors housing at South Quad. From what she has said and my observation, it is well worth it. The location is second to none, she is close to all her classes, and is in the thick of things for honors programming. There have been study sessions and social and academic programming in the dorm that is readily available. She has made a great many friends and finds the atmosphere very good for studying and playing. </p>

<p>Just remember that not everyone in honors will get South Quad, so get your housing app in early.</p>

<p>i was accepted to honors and have heard from some people who attend michigan as regular students or dropped out of honors (by choice) that at times the students can be less social and outgoing than other students. Is this the case or do honors students have just as much fun as their peers?</p>

<p>Hi! Try this website called LVUTV. It's a nice way to sort of virtually tour the campuses. Go here to see current UMich students talking about the dorm options in video interviews. Central Campus location
Easier classes (arguably easier cause no curve...)
Cons:
More awkward / less social people (although you will live in the same dorm as many non-honor so...)
More requirements that you must meet</p>
