Honors Housing (NB - Busch)

I went to the Rutgers NB campus open house yesterday, and went on a residency tour at Busch campus. While walking around I asked the guide what honors housing looks like, since I applied for the honors program. She said that honors students live in suites with three doubles, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a common area. That sounded pretty awesome.

I got my acceptance letter for the honors program today (yay), but in the letter it said that honors housing is in Barr Hall... which to my understanding is not suites at all, just regular doubles.

So what is "honors housing"??? I was really looking forward to living in those suites... but it looks like I'm not going to get to live there!

Any RU students that can shed some light on this?

It may be the freshmen engineering hall.

If your an engineer then most likely you live in Barr Hall, which is the all engineering dorm. Honors or not thats where most of the engineers end up (that or Mattia hall across the way).

Most all of the students who have been accepted into Engineering are also Honors eligible, so it cuts both ways.

I think the Honors Housing is in Barr Hall but there is one whole floor devoted to them

So what's the point of accepting the honors housing? It's nothing special at all... Wouldn't most people rather live in regular housing then, where not every single person is an engineer? What are the benefits of living in Barr?

since its all engineering maybe you can easily get help in various subjects and study with them

bcoz a lot of students were saying the Engineering at RU is not easy and if u r in honors i am assuming its tougher

You will probably get the suite at McCormick. Thats where they put all the honors students. It is the tallest of the suite. Pretty nice too!

So collaboration with others is easier, that's the only plus I guess...

How does Barr compare with other residence halls on Busch? Is it all pretty much the same thing? I'm asking cause I have to pick my preference on the enrollment papers, and I'm not sure which one to choose!

It doesn't make that much difference. I would go with McCormick. Resident halls will the last thing you will need to worry about.
